Permanent Hair Reduction is a simple and effective approach to removing unwanted hair, no more shaving rashes, waxing or painful methods needed!

We have a Medical Grade Diode Laser machine here at Finer Lines Aesthetics.

How It Works

The machine delivers pulses of light to the treatment area, this light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair and converted to heat, the heat travels down the hair follicle and destroys the bulb which means the follicle will not produce new hairs.

Consultation

A free no obligation s consultation is offered before treatment to discuss your needs and suitability for treatment with one of our experienced nurse prescribers, at this appointment we will address your particular areas of concerns and together we will form a treatment plan. Should you choose to go ahead, subject to a full medical history, we will perform a patch test on the treatment area, treatment can be booked after 48 hours.

Treatment Areas

All areas can be treated with our Machine, our most popular areas are underarms, full bikinis, legs and facial hair.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe, does it hurt?

We are fully trained in providing these treatments making it a generally safe procedure, you will be asked to wear eye protection and a cooling gel will be applied to the area, the diode machine is pain free and is the quickest most effective machine on the market currently.

How long does it take to work?

As the hair follicles are damaged by the treatment the hair generally falls out after 1-3 weeks. Treatment will only work when the hair is in its active growth phase, therefore multiple treatments will be needed as follicles have active and inactive growth phases. Treatment length varies depending on your hair growth and area being treated.

Most people notice a difference after their first treatment.

Are there any side effects?

Mild burning can occur following treatment, especially if the skin has been exposed to the sun as the heat is absorbed by the tanned skin therefore we advise you not to have treatment with a tan, any burns usually resolve after 1-2 weeks. The area can be a little red following treatment and occasionally swollen.

What about aftercare advice?

Immediately after your treatment you will look like you have sunburn and your skin may feel warm and tight, this normally subsides after a few hours, redness may last a few days and is a normal effect of the treatment.

We will apply Aloe Vera and you can use this at home if required , we recommend you don’t apply make up for 12 hours and avoid the use of any abrasive products. It is important to use a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen of at least SPF 30 for a minimum of 4 weeks post treatment even on winter days.

Aftercare is discussed at your appointment and full aftercare advice is emailed to you following each appointment.
